Attention Blackhawk Families: The Sandoval community schools are aware of a rumor circulating in the community regarding the safety of our schools. Law enforcement and the schools have been working together throughout this week to ensure the continued safety of our schools. Law enforcement has conducted a thorough investigation and have provided assurances to school administration that they have no reason to believe our schools are unsafe. Both law enforcement and the school have investigated the underlying allegations and have found them to be without merit. The Sandoval school district is grateful for the swift and thorough investigation of the Sandoval Police Department. The Police Department has increased presence at community schools, and the school district has requested additional visibility in the coming days. Please do not be alarmed by the additional visibility of police officers in the area throughout the school day over the next several days as we work together to ensure students and the community feel safe. As always, if you see something, please say something - the Sandoval Police Department can be reached at (618) 247-3411.

Good Morning!! If you are the parent of a student with special needs, please see the information below: As part of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), KSED must complete an annual Needs Assessment survey that allows them to prioritize the needs of students with disabilities by examining overall services and professional development needed. Please go to www.ksed801.com, and click on the blue link at the top of our home page to complete the Needs Assessment survey. The survey should only take a couple minutes to complete. Thanks!! Blackhawk families: Parents, please take a moment to fill out the 5 essential survey for your child's school. This simple task may seem insignificant, but it plays a crucial role in improving the overall educational experience for your child. There are three key reasons why completing this survey is beneficial for the school. First and foremost, feedback from parents helps school administrators identify areas of improvement and make necessary changes to better meet the needs of students. By providing honest and constructive feedback, parents can help shape the future direction of the school. Secondly, filling out the survey allows parents to voice their concerns and suggestions for enhancing communication between home and school. This open dialogue fosters a collaborative relationship between parents and educators, ultimately benefiting the academic success of students. Lastly, data collected from these surveys can be used to assess the effectiveness of current programs and initiatives within the school. By understanding what is working well and what needs improvement, we can make informed decisions that positively impact student learning outcomes. In conclusion, taking a few minutes to complete the 5 essential survey is a small but impactful way for parents to contribute to their child's education. Your input matters – please fill out the survey today. Link for parents to take the survey: http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/

Attention!
The start of 2nd Semester has arrived and so has the possibility of winter weather next week. Please make sure you have up-to-date phone numbers and contact information on file with the Jr-Sr High School and the Grade School. In case of any school cancellation due to inclement weather we will send out text and facebook alerts as well as notify local TV and Radio stations to announce. Remember our decision to cancel school is for the safety and care of our nearly 400 students, PreK thru 12th grade, as well as our faculty and staff.
