Do to technical issues report cards for Elementary students (K-5th) will not be going out until Monday. We apologize for the inconvenience.
As a reminder if your student is going to be absent you most notify Mrs. Jennifer in the school office by 8:00 am. If the office is not notified the student will be marked Unexcused. Office hours are M-F (unless school is out) from 7:30am-3:30pm. You are also able to use talking points to contact Jennifer or via email at jennifer.harnish@sandoval501.org if calling is an issue. Willow St. as this area is the designated area for the bus drivers. Students are to walk down the sidewalk to the gym doors from Perry St.

There will be NO after school art club or DND on Tue. the 20th, please plan on your student arriving home at normal time.

Blackhawk Families: In‑person registration will be held July 30th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Sandoval Jr./Sr. High School. This event is for new, returning, and Pre‑K students. Please bring any required documentation to complete your forms. Also, please bring proof of residency: One document from Category A (lease, mortgage, or property tax bill) and one document from Category B or C (utility bill, insurance policy, driver’s license, etc.). Any incoming freshman enrolled in Driver’s Education for the 2026–27 school year may complete their vision test during registration. We look forward to welcoming all families as we prepare for a great school year.
Community Notice Regarding HVAC Incident at the Sandoval Junior/Senior High School this evevning
Dear Blackhawk community,
I would like to provide an update regarding an incident that occurred tonight at the Junior/Senior High School.
Earlier this evening, a malfunction within the school's HVAC system resulted in smoke entering the cafeteria area. Out of an abundance of caution, emergency personnel were contacted and responded promptly to assess the situation and ensure the safety of the building.
I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Sandoval Fire Department, Odin Fire Department, Centralia City Fire Department, and Centralia District Fire Protection for their quick response, professionalism, and assistance. Their efforts helped ensure the situation was addressed safely and efficiently.
After a thorough assessment, it was determined that the only damage sustained was to the HVAC system itself. No other areas of the building were damaged.
The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. School personnel and maintenance staff are working closely with service providers to address the HVAC issue.
For students attending summer school, classes will take place tomorrow at the Junior/Senior High School as scheduled and at the normal start time.
We appreciate the patience, understanding, and support of our families and community. Should additional information become available, we will provide updates as needed.

Blackhawk Sports reminder! Today we will be offering sports and school physicals for all students at the Jr/Sr high school until finished then move to the grade school for $20. Physicals are required to participate in sports, band, incoming kindergarten, incoming 6th grade, and incoming freshmen for the 2026-2027 school year. There will be no participation, including open gyms, next year with no physical. Students do not have to stay the entire day. They can leave once their physical is completed. This is a quick and easy way to become compliant for the 2026-2027 school year!

Spring is here! On Tuesday, March 31st Sandoval Elementary will be dismissing early at 2:10pm and the Jr-Sr High School will dismiss at 2:20pm to begin Spring Break. There will be no school attendance Wednesday, April 1st - Monday, April 6th. School will resume on Tuesday, April 7th. We look forward to a safe and relaxing spring break!
