Eight students from Sandoval High School traveled to Decatur on March 13-15 to compete in the Illinois Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) State Leadership Conference.  This is Sandoval’s 3rd year to have a HOSA organization at the school and taking students to compete in the HOSA competition.

Local Businesses Show Support for PBIS

In late September, H.A.W.K. Hero signs were delivered to Taylor Maid, Carl’s Cuts Meat Market, Bank’s Bowl, Day/Macz Funeral Home, and Angie’s Hair Express . The local businesses purchased the signs to show their support for Sandoval’s PBIS program. The signs read, “We Support Our H.A.W.K. Heroes,” and feature each month’s character trait. The signs were sold for $40, and a portion of that amount helps to stock the H.A.W.K. Store, where students spend the H.A.W.K. Bucks that they have earned for positive behavior. If you are interested in purchasing a H.A.W.K Hero sign, you may contact the high school at 247-3361.

The signs serve as more than a fundraiser; they are a reminder to students that the character traits taught at school are the same behaviors businesses look for in both patrons and employees. Sandoval C.U.S.D. 501 sincerely appreciates their support!
